Assuntos Internacionais do Rio Grande do Sul com investidores de países árabes.

Visitamos hoje, no final da tarde, a Secretaria do Desenvolvimento e dos Assuntos Internacionais do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. A agenda foi marcada pessoalmente pelo Secretário da Agricultura do RS, João Machado que se fez presente. Fomos recebidos pelo secretário adjunto da SEDAE, Josué de Souza Barbosa.

Conversamos sobre o interesse de investidores árabes que nos visitaram, recentemente, em fazer negócios com o Estado do RS. Reproduzi ao secretário adjunto, alguns tópicos sobre o que tratamos na FARSUL, dia 18 de agosto do corrente ano, destacando a disposição dos árabes em comprar milho, trigo e carne do RS. O ponto central da conversa foi o interesse dos executivos islâmicos construirem um novo frigorífico no RS. A cidade de Canoas lidera a preferência neste ponto para receber este investimento.

Levantamos a possibilidade de terras de propriedade do Estado, existentes no município de Guaíba serem estudadas para destinação a construção do novo frigorífico árabe muçulmano, com posicionamento e abate de acordo com as tradições islâmicas, onde o animal não deve sofrer.

Josué Barbosa garantiu o interesse do Estado no investimento. Pediu informações sobre a capacidade de abate da planta em estudo, quantas pessoas o novo frigorífico deve empregar, a área a ser edificada e de pastoreio, o valor do investimento estrangeiro, para que o Estado do RS possa fazer uma proposta aos investidores, assegurando contrapartidas correspondentes.

Ao final, os dirigentes governamentais da pasta da agricultura e de assuntos internacionais, João Machado e Josué Barbosa enfatizaram a importância da participação da FARSUL no desenvolvimento de relações internacionais que devem resultar, na instalação de um novo frigorífico árabe, no extremo sul do Brasil.
